Meet Kim

Awaken & Abide in Huntsville, AL, is organized by Kim Brown, who has seen first hand the difference group experiences can have in transforming not only individuals, but families as well. After experiencing the Healing Care Ministries model for herself, Kim has taken her background of a Master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary, extensive training with Healing Care Ministries, and experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor to form Awaken & Abide. Through interactive groups, studies, and retreats, participants are invited into community to awaken to God’s transformational love and abide in His presence as He breathes fresh life into emotional, spiritual, and relational longings.

A Note From Kim

Welcome to Awaken & Abide! If you are anything like me, even though you have come to know the beauty, wonder, and gift of salvation in Christ, you can still, more often than you would like to admit, limp along on any given day wrestling with doubt, insecurity, guilt, and fear. 

What if there is more? 

What if there is a deep knowing of God available to you? One that unfolds over a lifetime and springboards into an increasingly rich, experiential knowing of His lavish love for you - everyday! One that whispers “You are Mine” in ways that are unique, personal, and life-giving to you. One that increasingly settles the matter that God sees you, He knows you, He smiles over you, He is with you, and He cares. 

I believe that there is. I believe that God has an open, ongoing invitation for us to come day after day to awaken to more of Him and learn to abide in engaging ways that bring Him and His truths to life like never before. I also believe that this happens best in community – intentional, meaningful, and safe community. Community that welcomes authenticity and makes room for wherever one might be on their journey with Jesus.

Even after years of walking alongside others in their journeys with Jesus, as well as in my own, Jesus still surprises me over and over in how personally and beautifully He shows up, time and time again.
